Joining our Burning Crusade realm on Windows

Step 1 [torrent]

Using a torrent client such as uTorrent you can download the ready-to-go client (2.4.3 including patches, add-ons and realmlist) directly using this torrent. Do not use launcher.exe, because it will patch to the latest version automatically.

If you don't know how to download using torrents, read this guide.

If you use the torrent, go to step 3 now.

Step 1a [direct download] United States Version

Download World of Warcraft 2.0 enUS
Download World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Expansion enUS.
Download patch 2.0.0 - 2.4.0
Download patch 2.4.0 - 2.4.1
Download patch 2.4.1 - 2.4.2
Download patch 2.4.2 - 2.4.3

Install these patches in the order listed here.

Step 1b [direct download] United Kingdom Version

Download this only if the above didn't work, or you care about the name of the folders being GB or US :-) There's no change in game experience.

 

Download World of Warcraft 2.0 enGB
Download World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Expansion enGB.
Download patch 2.0.0 - 2.4.0
Download patch 2.4.0 - 2.4.1
Download patch 2.4.1 - 2.4.2
Download patch 2.4.2 - 2.4.3

Install these patches in the order listed here.

CAUTION! When installed, DO NOT LOG IN YET! The client will automatically connect to the official update server and start patching on its own. (Keep the original non-installed files too, if you have a problem with your client, you can reinstall it without re-downloading it)

Step 2

Go to the place you installed World of Warcraft TBC 2.4.3 - enUS or enGB. (Mostly C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft.)

Open Realmlist.wtf with notepad and delete everything inside.
Put the following line in it:
"set realmlist exwow-serv.exnw.com" (without the quotes)

Step 3

Create an account. If you already signed up for our WotLK realm, you can continue using that account - it works for both realms!

Step 4

Launch World of Warcraft with WoW.exe, not with Launcher.exe.
