Purpose of this is to apply a patch that should prevent the so called 'dead= -bug' from occ uring - people being dead but still able to cast spells and u= se abilities , mostly encountered in arenas and battlegrounds. No other chan= ges are sc heduled, so overall effect should be minimal.

For t his reason, the testserver is currently running a completely up-to-dat= e c ore with ditto database. So far we have been unable to find any major ne= w problems (and quite a lot of good fixes), but the world of warcraft is hu= ge and we simply cannot test everything. To this end you, the players, are = invited to login on the testserver and check out your class's main skills , = your favourite instances, or the battleground of your choice - and let us k= now if you find any new bugs. This public testing period will extend for th= e rest of the week, after which we intend to put the update live & perform = some routine maintainance as well. Of course, we will see to it t hat a char= acter of your choice on the live server will get a suitable rew ard if you d= o find new bugs or problems.

You can login on the testserver by selecting the 'Change Realm' button on y= our character selection screen and selecting the 'TBC Test Server' found un= der the 'Dev elopment' tab.

The whole procedure should last a bou= t an hour or two.

This will NOT affect the tables on wh ich characters data is stored but, to = be safe, everything will be backed up before the cleanup. In case something= goes wrong (and this is a very u nlikely thing to happen), we will just res= tore the DB to its status previ ous to the maintenance.
